Callington Memory Cafe is a registered charity - No 1181498
It is run entirely by volunteer, some of whome act as our trustees.
A grand title, which basically means the buck stops with me.
I'm Keith, a retired secondary school teacher.
My awareness of dementa was raised after seeing John Suchet (a TV News reader)
speaking at a local Rotary conference. He explained how he gradually realised that 'something
was not quite right' with his beloved wife Bonnie.
Since then I have trained as a Dementia Friends Champion.
Part of my role is to explain, in simple terms, what dementia is and how the disease affects day to day life.
Its important that we do not 'write people off' when they develop dementia.
It can be frustrating, but you can live well with dementia.
